SAR Satellite Ground Stations
MEOSAR Local User Terminal (MEOLUT)
Medium-Altitude Earth Orbiting Search and Rescue Satellites
Satellite tracking station for acquisition of 406 MHz emergency beacon data relayed by Cospas-Sarsat Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) satellites using MEOSAR technology. Designed and built to support the life-saving mission of the global Cospas-Sarsat network, our highly reliable MEOLUT has been deployed in the world’s major SAR regions. Using proprietary software defined receiver technology, our MEOLUT is capable of processing both First Generation Beacon (FGB) and Second Generation Beacon (SGB) signals, which highly increases the detection and GNSS independent location calculation performance of 406 MHz beacons.
The TSi Horizon Phased Array Antenna (PAA) MEOLUT system integrates state-of-the-art beam forming technology to deliver a SAR satellite ground station with significantly increased coverage area, smaller installation footprint and reduced maintenance.
It utilizes a single PAA with multiple redundant subsystems, in a truncated pyramid configuration capable of tracking more than 24 SAR satellites simultaneously. Our design is advantageous over a traditional flat plane approach, since it ensures horizon-to-horizon tracking, resulting in faster detection and localization of emergency beacons farther away.
TSi is committed to delivering the latest, most advanced technology which meets Cospas-Sarsat standards and future requirements as they are specified by the Cospas-Sarsat community. Our MEOLUT is the only operational MEOLUT proven to fully meet current MEOSAR requirements, including slow-moving beacon performance at speeds up to 5 m/s.
