Lanham, Maryland, USA – March5, 2024 – Techno-Sciences (TSi), the global leader in Search and Rescue Satellite Aided Tracking (SARSAT) ground station solutions and services, has secured a new contract to deliver a high-performance Phased Array Antenna (PAA) system and Medium Earth Orbit Local User Terminal (MEOLUT) for the United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.
This contract marks another milestone in the successful collaboration between NASA and TSi, spanning several decades and delivering major technological advancements to the US Government and the international SAR community. TSi’s PAA MEOLUT solution design is considered best in class and is currently the world’s only MEOLUT meeting stringent international standards for both first and second-generation emergency beacon signal processing, resulting in significant improvements in beacon detection and location accuracy.
In addition to this contract with NASA, TSi has been awarded three contracts by the United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to enhance its MEOLUT systems in Hawaii, Guam, and Florida with Phased Array Antenna Systems.
For over forty years, NASA’s Search and Rescue office has driven forward search and rescue technologies for the international Cospas-Sarsat Program, aiming to minimize search durations and enhance rescue effectiveness. TSi is proud to contribute cutting-edge technology to this program, playing a role in saving tens of thousands of lives through continuous technological advancements.
